Keys scaly cricket

This small cricket is found only in the Florida keys.  It prefers the dryer interior regions of the keys were it has been reported from clumps of wiregrass.  Not much is known of its life history, however, the songs of males have been heard every month but the coldest days in December.  They seem to be most plentiful from March to October.  A recording of the song of the male can be found at http://buzz.ifas.ufl.edu/440a.htm.  (Photo by Thomas J.
