1999 TOUR PRE-REGISTRATION  FORM
ALL GROUP TOURS WILL OCCUR ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 28TH
NO. 1:  Rainforest tour (to ‘El Yunque').  This tour will depart from the Condado Plaza Hotel at 8:00 AM and will return at approx. 2:15 PM.   The bus trip will take about an hour each way.  English-speaking guides associated with the Caribbean National Forest will conduct a natural history tour of the rainforest.  A stop also will be made at the Visitor Center for more information.  Lunch will be available during a stop along the route at a typical Puerto Rican restaurant.  Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring rain gear!  The fare of $20 per person includes RT transportation and admission to the Park (but not lunch).   Note: Because of limitations imposed by the Caribbean National Forest, participation in this tour will necessarily be limited to the FIRST 50 PERSONS who preregister and send their check to the FES Business Office!

NO. 2:   Tour of ‘San Cristobal' and ‘El Morro' Forts in Old San Juan.  This tour will depart from the Condado Plaza Hotel at 8:15 AM and will return at approx. 1:15 PM.  The bus trip will take about 15 minutes each way.  This tour will discuss the history of the forts and termite control methods.  It is a customized tour co-led by Dr. Nan Yao Su and Paul Ban (Univ. of Florida) and National Park Service staff.  José Juan Bauza from Dow AgroSciences will be  the local host.  The fare will be $20 per person, including admission to the forts.

NO. 3: Tour of the University of Puerto Rico Botanical Gardens and the Entomological Museum.  This tour will depart from the Condado Plaza Hotel at 8:30 AM and will return at approx. 2:15 PM.  The bus trip will take about 20 minutes each way.  The group will be divided and will alternate visiting the Botanical Garden and the Entomological Museum.  The fare will be $20 per person (no meals will be included; lunch can be obtained on campus).
